the premise: a group of 20-something girls decide it would be fun to mail their favorite books to each other in an attempt to be well-read...it's like being pen-pals, only passing on a letter that was written by somebody else...

great choice! I couldn't put this book down and it was such a delight to read for the first time...now I know what cheesy historical romance novels are trying to imitate!

I was a fan. I could definitely see this as a featured serial in a newspaper back in the day. I loved the hype: EGADS! Who EEZ the Scarrlet Pimpernellll!
And Hannah, isn't it your life goal to read cheesy historical romance novels or something?

I once read the first chapter of this book aloud to a class of high school sophomores... and they wanted more. :)
