the premise: a group of 20-something girls decide it would be fun to mail their favorite books to each other in an attempt to be well-read...it's like being pen-pals, only passing on a letter that was written by somebody else...

So I picked this book because of its impact on me, it's many psychological parallels, and because I thought it was a really fun read. I originally read it for a multicultural counseling class as representative of my culture. Of course, I know nothing about the south so that part didn't really work out, but I loved it anyway. I hope you enjoy it.
BTW For those of you who thought the movie was "too much estrogen," I just watched the movie for the first time a few weeks ago and the book is of course loads better and loads different, so please never fear.
