the premise: a group of 20-something girls decide it would be fun to mail their favorite books to each other in an attempt to be well-read...it's like being pen-pals, only passing on a letter that was written by somebody else...

Suz J said: "I am definitely intrigued to know your thoughts about "Silence." I don't know that I was ever "thoroughly engrossed," but I think that's because I was so disturbed by it all that I tried to distance myself a little. I feel like it's one of those books where you get to the end and you're not sure how you're SUPPOSED to feel about what happened, or how you DO feel about what happened, you just know that you're emotionally exhausted by the whole thing. Intense!"
