the premise: a group of 20-something girls decide it would be fun to mail their favorite books to each other in an attempt to be well-read...it's like being pen-pals, only passing on a letter that was written by somebody else...

I love this book (and the resulting series) because it takes many of the classics that I've read and loved (or in some cases, abhored...ahem, Wuthering Heights) and brings them to life...quite literally. The heroine, Thursday Next, is also just a great character (though she's much better developed as the series goes on) - heroic and yet not without her endearing foibles (yes, I did just use the word "foibles" and I'm pretty jazzed about it). I realize that all are not as quirky about literature as I am, but I hope you enjoy it nevertheless. (And yes, I also love parentheses. Hooray for parentheses!)
hooray for haikus!
Bronte got a hand

and Jane got her man
Doesn't anyone else have anything to say about this book? I mean, maybe you didn't all love it as much as I did, which I can live with, but a little feedback would be nice!
